Imagine a world where your only value is hidden in sharing "value". What the normies call - sharing education, or what someone else finds valuable. Imagine a world where the only things that really sell, is "how to sell" or "how to buy". Well, look around, and you'll see that's what is happening. The internet used to be a lively place, and yes, some marketers ruined it for everyone else. There's a lot of hate toward the service/identity of marketing because no one NEEDS an education, or learning unless there is some kind of financial reward/salary bump attached to it. There seems to be a wide variety of people, who only talk about B2B sales, there are people who share their lives, their perspective, and there's influencers, photographers, and all other artists/creatives and more. But imagine a world where the only idenity of a marketer is telling how to market. Or how to sell. I see this as the death of marketing, because humans have a weird way of adding complexity to anything SIMPLE. So it has more meaning, more value.
How much returns or layers of depth should something have to hold its value in today's market? All that said, there is absolutely a need for some change, and that change is not hidden in "AI" cough chatbot. There are ways to provide a service, and help someone. But there is complexity here. Most people stop at step 1. But what if I told you there's another way? Most offers and services today absolute jade out audiences like there's no tomorrow. Because they haven't figured out how to be a generalist specialist. Market without talking about marketing, live without talking about life. It has a mixture and a recipe, and I'm prepping one for you all for this weekend! Here is what's been going on in the industry the past few years and what I want to fix.
Feels like we live in a catch 22 parody. Where everyone needs to lie about having the thing WITHOUT doing the thing, in order to to the thing they want. Can you see the stupidity in that? So, this creates what we know today as platform centric interests. How platforms dictate what performs "well" there.
So what do you really want to be creating? Different just for the sake of being different? Or what inspires you, makes you happy, and serves as a creative outlet with no return? Most people today attach the result of their output in conversions. Not just financials, but action-conversions. If someone knows, and likes your idea → Take action on the post by "liking" or "commenting" on it. If someone likes you, and sees what you stand for, keep talking about → Gets a click on your profile, maybe an instant follow. If someone likes you, trusts you, sees you as an expert and an authority → Like, comment, buy, and newsletter engagement right? But there's another level to this as well → Where you live rent-free in their head without having to do any of the suck-up actions that most people teach in "order to make sales". It's called "following your passion" → Haha got you! Kidding!! In reality, it's a mix of passion, your interests, and something the world can pay you for and you're interested to know more. If you went into depth into that interest, field, or industry, it wouldn't feel like "dying" every time you sat down to work or figure it out for your boss or clients, or your audience. Your general interests, what moves you, makes you "work". Would you buy without trust?See, today, most people who could give a crap about you and your life are in power and running the products, the systems you buy and play with everyday. Politicians could give a crap about their general populace worldwide. Some marketers could give a crap about what they sell as long as there's money coming irrespective of what values they sacrifice. Big Tech and other product owners will push products like "AI" (doing the thing you do best without having done it themselves) without doing the thing themselves. Imagine your reaction if someone overweight taught you a "how-to-lose-weight" program. No matter the intention, we judge the teacher by what they've accomplished first. But we don't judge someone by a product put in front of our own sins to fulfil. They sell you how to be more successful by talking to that part of your identity which wants the sin of pride, wrath, greed. We all have it coded into our personalities, some just use it better against you. All that said, I would LOVE it if some of you could reply back to be "warm" and see if I could help in some way. It goes a long way, and since you're already subscribed, it goes an extra mile, so to say! This email is also a test so I can see who is finding "value" and wants to stay here, so I can help people who want to be helped, not swiping or staying for the sake of value. Talking about free information and the illusion of free work and how to get more sales without talking about getting more sales. In other words, how to sell without selling. See you in the next one, Ankit | Mark. It. |
